Before there was Barefaced Skin Studio, I truly had no idea this would be my path.
I went to Bridgewater State University and earned my degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology.
At the time, I thought I had it all figured out, but looking back, I really didn’t. And I think that’s something so many of us can relate to.
Growing up, I was a competitive dancer, and I always loved all things beauty hair, makeup, all of it! But when it came time to choose a career, I followed what felt safe and familiar.
My mom was a teacher (hi momma <3), so I thought maybe that was my path too. I mean, I literally played teacher with my stuffed animals when I was younger, so it had to be what I was meant for, right?
While finishing college, I started bartending and serving at the Neighborhood Tavern in Northborough, MA and that chapter lasted four years, shaping me in more ways than I expected.
Somewhere along the way, I had this quiet, persistent feeling that teaching in a classroom just wasn’t for me.
Before fully walking away, I tried becoming a para, thinking maybe I just needed to adjust. But after giving it another chance, I knew it still didn't feel right.
So I went back to bartending, trying to figure out what was next. And I remember asking myself one simple question:
What do I genuinely love that I could turn into a career?
One thing I’ve always known is this: I’ve always felt called to help people and not in a surface level way, but in a way that makes people feel seen, understood, and supported.
And in a way, I never stopped teaching.
Whether it was training a new coworker at the restaurant or now teaching at Spa Tech Institute in Westborough, where I once went to school.
A full circle moment I never saw coming.
But what led me into aesthetics wasn’t just a love for skincare.
It was something I went through personally that made me realize how much deeper skin really is and how important it is to feel supported while you’re going through it.
And that experience shaped everything behind Barefaced and what I want it to stand for.
That's what led me into aesthetics and why Barefaced was created the way it was.
Until next time,
