How Long Before My Wedding Should I Start Facials and Professional Skincare?

How Long Before My Wedding Should I Start Facials and Professional Skincare?

If you're reading this, congratulations to the future Mrs.!

How cool is it that you literally get to have a huge party celebrating you and the person you love, with everyone you love?

Whether your wedding week is a year from today or just around the corner, I hope you take a moment to soak it all in. This season in your life is filled with so much excitement, anticipation, and love.

And you only get one wedding day. (Well, twice if you're lucky! I know a few brides and couples who were able to experience two celebrations!) Either way, these are moments you'll remember forever.

My hope is that years from now, when you look back at your wedding photos, you don't remember worrying about a breakout or feeling self-conscious about your skin. Instead, I hope you remember the way your husband looked at you as you walked down the aisle, laughing with your girlfriends/bridesmaids while getting ready, hugging your family and friends, and all of the happy tears that made the day unforgettable.

One of the greatest privileges of being an aesthetician is caring for women during such a meaningful season of life. It's about so much more than facials or skincare products. It's about helping you feel confident, cared for, and comfortable in your own skin so you can be fully present on one of the biggest days of your life.

When Should You Start Prepping Your Skin?

Just like you wouldn't wait until the week before your wedding to have your dress altered, your skin deserves time, too. Healthy, lasting results don't happen overnight. Whether your goal is to clear acne, brighten pigmentation, smooth texture, or simply achieving a healthy bridal glow, starting early allows us to create a personalized plan without rushing the process.

12 Months

If you're struggling with acne, acne scarring, pigmentation, melasma, or more significant skin concerns, this is the ideal time to begin.

We'll have plenty of time to strengthen your skin barrier, create healthy habits, make adjustments along the way, and achieve results gradually without unnecessary stress.

6 Months

This is a wonderful time to begin if you're looking to brighten your complexion, improve texture, prevent signs of aging, or simply want your skin looking its healthiest for your wedding day.

We'll build a personalized treatment plan, establish a consistent home care routine, and help your skin become stronger, healthier, and more radiant month after month.

3 Months

There's still plenty we can do.

At this stage, our focus shifts toward refining your results, supporting your skin barrier, boosting hydrating, and making sure your skin is healthy, balanced, and glowing as your wedding day approaches.

What If My Wedding Is Next Week Away?

Yes, even if its a week away, it is not to late to come see me!

While this isn't the time to introduce aggressive treatments or try to correct years of skin concerns, we can absolutely focus on calming, hydrating, and supporting your skin barrier so your skin feels healthy, comfortable, and beautifully prepped for makeup application.

Sometimes the most valuable treatment right before your wedding isn't correction and it's giving your skin exactly what it needs to look and feel its best on your big day.

My Two Dynamic Skin Duos and Routine the Night Before Your Wedding Day

  1. Lira MYSTIQ Lifting Masque - this is almost like a "red carpet" treatment and amazing before events. This is going to bring blood flow to the surface helping with fine lines and wrinkles. Orange Plant Stem Cells in this are going to help with muscle contraction to smooth wrinkles This masque is going to help tighten, brighten, and hydrate the skin.
  2. Lira BIO Mineral Hydrating Masque - this masque is going to help hydrate and calm the skin, to reduce makeup flaking and redness. It haas a blend of minerals, hydrators, and healing ingredients.

How to Use These Two Products:

There's so many ways you can use these but my favorite is using the Mystiq Lifting Masque the night before for 15 - 20 minutes, followed by your skincare routine. The BIO Hydrating Mineral Masque can also be used not just as weekly treatment, but my favorite is an overnight treatment.

The night before your wedding, double cleanse your skin, and use the lifting masque for 10-15 minutes. Follow with your serums, oils, and moisturizers, and then apply a dime size layer of the BIO hydrating mineral masque as an overnight treatment masque to hydrate the skin while you sleep.

Before You Walk Down the Isle

Before you walk down the aisle, I hope you pause for just a moment and take it all in.

I hope you remember that your wedding day isn't about having perfect skin or everything going exactly as planned. It's about celebrating the beginning of a beautiful new chapter with the person you love most.

I hope you laugh until your cheeks hurt, you hug your family a little tighter, dance to every song, and never forget to look around the room at all of the people who came to celebrate you and your partner's love.

My wish for you is a lifetime filled with laughter, grace during the hard seasons, countless memories, and a love that continues to grow with each passing year.

Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of this incredible season in your life. It truly is one of the greatest honors to care for brides, and I hope your wedding day is everything you've ever dreamed of and even more beautiful than you ever imagined.

Congratulations, future Mrs. 🤍
